The reindeer hat is an untradeable cosmetic item obtained by completing one of the Christmas holiday events that occur once per year. This also rewards the player with all other holiday items associated with Christmas.

If destroyed, a replacement can be obtained from Diango in Draynor Village or from the toy box of a costume room.

An emote is performed by using the "prance" option on the hat while it is worn. This spawns a snow pile under the player, which snowballs can be picked from, and melts soon after. It is commonly used in free to play for tick-manipulation.

In snow-restricted areas, the message in the chatbox will instead state This is not an appropriate place to play with your hat!. The hat cannot also be operated while sitting down prompting the message You can't operate the hat while you're sitting down..

Previously, they were obtainable during the 2013 Rare Drops event (from 14 July to 21 July) as part of a rare item drop.
