Mummies are undead monsters found in the Ancient Pyramid during Desert Treasure I. The mummy spawns from sarcophagi when the player is standing nearby and shout Rawr! when appearing. Mummies initially spawn as the level 96 variant, which has 1 hitpoint but can only be killed using Magic attacks or fire arrows. Once killed, it reanimates as the level 98 burning variant, which has 10 hitpoints and can be killed normally. After killing the burning variant, it will temporarily become mummy ashes before dropping ashes as loot.

The sarcophagi in the final altar room of the Ancient Pyramid will not spawn mummies.

Though standard melee and ranged attacks will not damage the level 96 variant, other methods like vengeance can be used. However, this damage will not successfully kill the mummy. It will instead continue to patrol and not respond to any further attacks.
