Metabolise is a prayer from the Ruinous Powers prayer book, unlocked at level 77 Prayer. It can be used by selecting the Ruinous Powers relic in Trailblazer Reloaded League or by purchasing the Ruinous powers book in Deadman: Annihilation.

Metabolise must be active for at least 15 seconds in order to take effect. After this time, a player's action delay (the duration in which players cannot perform an action, such as attacking) is reduced by 1 tick; in other words, player can attack 1 tick earlier after eating a piece of food. If deactivated, the player's action delay is reset to their weapon's attack speed or left unchanged, whichever is higher.

Most food eaten, such as monkfish, have an action delay of 3 ticks, meaning Metabolise would allow players to attack their opponent after 2 ticks. Karambwans usually have an action delay of 2 ticks, so they are brought down to 1 tick with Metabolise. Notably, "combo eating" with cooked karambwan would have an action delay of 5 ticks (2 ticks from the karambwan plus 3 ticks from normal food), and Metabolise would reduce this to 3 ticks (1 tick from the karambwan plus 2 ticks from normal food).

The prayer was originally available to use on a beta world as part of the DT2 Rewards Beta after having passed the relevant consultation poll, where players could playtest it in various content before a second poll was brought forward to ask players whether they'd like the prayers to be implemented in the live game as a reward from completing the quest Desert Treasure II - The Fallen Empire.
