Maggot King Speed Chaser is a master combat achievement which requires the player to kill the Maggot King 5 times in under 9 minutes, which requires the player to defeat the boss in an average time of under 1:48 over the player's first 5 kills in the same instance.
Strategy
The achievement must be completed without leaving, and be the first five kills of the instance. It is highly recommended to take a magic and melee setup for the boss, as ranged setups are highly reliant on ruby bolt procs, whereas using fire spells weakens the boss' magic defence and inflicts a burn on it.
In particular, performing melee punishes with Dharok the Wretched's equipment during the boss' melee slams provides the highest damage output when at low health. If the players first two kills are over 1:48 even with Dharok's, consider resetting; ideally, players should aim for 1:30-1:40 kill times as to allow some wiggle room for bad kill times in later kills.
The time tracked for the achievement only takes into account the time spent in combat with the boss; as such, players can hold off on interacting with the Maggot King Corpse until their special attack energy is sufficiently restored, and the cooldown for drinking surge potions to expire, before starting the next kill.
Completing this achievement on-task is an option, so a slayer helmet (i) can be used in place of magic/ranged headgear if players are assigned a Maggot King boss task.
