Training

Arceuus Library

The Arceuus Library bookstacks.

Starting as low as level 1 Magic, one way to train is by finding texts in the Arceuus Library and turning them in for books of arcane knowledge. Each book can be exchanged for the player's current Magic level times 55 in experience. The fastest way to earn books of arcane knowledge is by finding various books around the library for Sam, Professor Gracklebone, or Villia.

The location of the books moves around the library periodically, but with good planning and knowledge of the library's patterns, it is possible to find and turn in 150 or more books per hour. At this rate, it would take only about an hour to reach level 64 Magic, starting from level 1 Magic. It would take 2,740 books of arcane knowledge to reach level 99 Magic training exclusively at the Arceuus Library. Training in this method also has the benefit of not costing any runes, which can help save on coins early on.

You can use the Arceuus Library Books Calculator to determine how many books you need to reach your target level or XP.

Splashing

One popular method of Magic training, especially at low levels, is splashing on low-level monsters such as rats or spiders. In particular, the giant bats at the south-eastern entrance of Arceuus are safespottable, and this location is very close to rune and staff stores. This method is extremely low-effort, requiring input only every twenty minutes to stay in combat against the monster. The price of the training method depends on the spell used, but in general it is fairly cheap, especially if the player is using an elemental staff to mitigate some of the rune costs. However, the low cost and low effort of the method are matched by low experience rates.

Sand Crabs

Killing sand crabs on the coast south of Hosidius is a popular low-effort training method, especially at low levels. They have relatively high Hitpoints, low offensive and defensive combat stats, and are naturally aggressive towards the player. This makes it easy to stand near a group of crabs and stay in combat for long periods of time with no player input, allowing for long, consistent training sessions with minimal attention needed.

Slayer

Like other combat skills, Magic can be trained while completing Slayer tasks for Konar quo Maten.

Other Spells

Besides training it through combat, Magic can be passively trained through a variety of other spells the player is likely to use. Enchantment spells, Alchemy spells, Teleportation spells, and even the Arceuus spellbook's reanimation spells can give small amounts of Magic experience that can add up over time.
