The Worst Ranged Weapon is a grandmaster combat achievement which requires the player to kill Kree'arra via damage inflicted by salamanders.
Strategy
The tecu salamander is recommended, as it is the strongest salamander available, requiring irit tar as ammo and level 80 Attack, Ranged, and Magic to use. Players should use the salamander in melee mode, as it hits significantly harder than ranged and Kree'arra has slightly less melee defence compared to ranged.
It is also very recommended to bring a mix of strong defensive equipment with high defence bonuses in all three styles, while also trying to maximise strength and slash bonuses, as Ranged accuracy will only be around 20% with a salamander. Oathplate armour and the bellator ring should be used over other options in order to increase slash accuracy.
The inventory should consist of about 200 irit tars, multiple super combat potions, a crossbow and grapple, and as many Saradomin brews and super restores as possible.
Players should keep Protect from Missiles and Piety on at all times. It is also advised to walk under Kree'arra after every attack to minimise his overall attacks, as he has an attack speed of 3, whereas the salamanders have an attack speed of 5 when used on the scorch (melee) style.
With an aviansie slayer task, using a slayer helmet will make the achievement much easier.
Note: As the players can only use salamanders to kill Kree'arra, any other types of damage such as thralls or recoil damage will automatically fail the achievement.
