Red dragons can be assigned as a Slayer task after unlocking Seeing red for 50 Slayer reward points and requiring partial completion of Dragon Slayer I to receive the Anti-dragon shield.

Adult and brutal variants use melee and dragonfire, so sufficient dragonfire protection is needed to avoid taking heavy damage. Alternatively, using Protect from Magic will suffice.

Normal dragons are found in Brimhaven Dungeon and Forthos Dungeon. Completion of the Elite Karamja Diary will result in the dragons dropping noted red dragonhide on death for the dragons in the former.

Once Dragon Slayer II is completed, a group of three dragons can be found in the Corsair Cove Dungeon and is very close to a bank, along with two baby dragons.

Brutal red dragons can be found in the Catacombs of Kourend. These are a stronger alternative, and unlike their normal variants, also have a chance at the draconic visage. They are generally not worth killing, since a task of brutal red dragons is very slow compared to normal or baby red dragons.
