The Skilling Arena was a skilling area added for the Skilling Cup of the 2014 Clan Cup. It contained methods for training Mining, Fishing, Woodcutting, Hunter, and Thieving, with each of the five weeks of the competition corresponding to one of the five skills. Although the experience you would have gained was tracked in the arena, no experience was actually earned. Additionally, all resources gained were replaced with junk instead, which players could get rid of by interacting with one of the various bank deposit boxes across the area.

Upon entering the arena from the challenge area accessed from the Clan Cup portal in Edgeville, a group of 5 players had 60 seconds to prepare before the trial began, giving them one hour to collectively earn the most experience in that week's skill as they can. Players had to bring their own tools and equipment into the arena, as none were provided within.

In the north-eastern corner of the area, 10 2x2 groups of granite rocks could be found. To the north of the granite, there was numerous runite, coal, and iron rocks.

In the south-western corner of the area, there was a small river containing various fishing spots, including lure/bait, cage/harpoon, and big net/harpoon spots.

In the north-western corner of the area, various trees could be found, including teak, maple, yew, and magic trees.

During the first three weeks of the event, the south-eastern corner of the area contained some small pens for hunter creatures, though the pens were all empty. For the Hunter week, the south-eastern corner of the area was updated with various large pens, each containing a type of chinchompa (grey, red, and black). The black chinchompa pen had large black scorch marks in the grass, as well as small bits of rubble scattered across it.

In the prior weeks, the area only contained only some gem stalls against the walls. For the Thieving week, the eastern half of the area was updated, with the Mining and Hunter sections being replaced with several tents with Pollnivneach bandits and Menaphite Thugs for blackjacking, and pens with Master Farmers for pickpocketing. More gem stalls could also be found along the sides of the arena.

• Upon entering the arena, the message "Get ready to grind!" was displayed in the chatbox.
• It was possible to receive random events inside the arena. As the event took place before the Optional Randoms update, random events that could teleport you out of the arena were disabled.
  • During the Fishing week of the event, the big fish random event could occur when fishing and result in the fishing spot being deleted.^[1]
  • This resulted in the Fishing week of the event being redone later after the Thieving week when the bug was fixed.
• The Skilling Arena was inaccessible on PvP worlds.
• Stat-boosting potions could not be brought into the arena, but other stat-boosting items like pies could be brought in.
• As the 2015 Skilling Cup took place out in the world, the Skilling Arena did not return for the 2015 Clan Cup, unlike the PvM Arena.
• Both the 2014 and 2015 Skilling Cup were won by Hexis. This can be seen on the Clan Cup Trophy at the Giants' Plateau.
