Ranged melee (also known as ranged-based melee) attacks are attacks which roll for accuracy against your ranged defensive bonuses but are fully protected against by the Protect from Melee prayer instead of the Protect from Missiles prayer.

Attack acts like	Melee → Protect from Melee	Ranged → Use ranged defence bonuses
More info	Having a high Prayer bonus will help	Ranged attacks roll against your Defence level.
