A cave horror.

Horrors are emaciated ape-like creatures that can be found on the island of Mos Le'Harmless and inside the Mos Le'Harmless Cave. Jungle horrors can be found on the surface of the island, whereas cave horrors can be found inside the cave.

Their sizes and appearances reveal their ages and roles in their society. Younger horrors are smaller than the adults, and the workers are more plain looking. Jungle horror warriors have spikes on their backs and chins, and cave horror guards and alphas wear necklaces with bones on them. Cave horrors are stronger than jungle horrors, and they wear black masks, which enhance their howls into a magical sound which can only be protected from by wearing a witchwood icon.[1]

They are bigger, badder, meaner, and have a howl that freezes the blood in yer veins. Wearin' earmuffs or a helmet won't work, cos them masks they wear make the sound magical. Only thing that works is wearin' a Witchwood Icon."
