Amascut's Remnant is a grandmaster combat achievement which requires the player to complete the Tombs of Amascut raid at level 500 or above without anyone dying.
Strategy
A raid level of 500 will increase the enemies' stats by 200% and health by 150%, making each boss somewhat challenging in itself.
Learning how to use various advanced tactics will help significantly in the raid, as conserving supplies for the Wardens is essential to successfully complete the task.
Equipment and Inventory
A Tumeken's shadow is the most powerful weapon in the Tombs of Amascut and will make a 500 run much easier, enabling tactics such as Butterfly Akkha, and doing enough damage to defeat Akkha's Shadows quickly or end Warden's enrage phase early. See Tombs of Amascut/Strategies for a breakdown of the best weapons for each encounter. The next best weapons for Wardens are the Twisted bow and Bow of faerdhinen. An Osmumten's fang is all but required for Kephri and Ba-ba.
Since the Keris partisan of the sun is likely going to be your only form of healing due to 'Dehydration' and 'No help needed', the amount of Super restores you bring in will be the only supplies you will have access to for the entire raid. It is highly recommended that players get a jewel of the sun before attempting this achievement, as with 'Dehydration' active, the player will have very limited forms of healing that will likely cost dps and supplies if they are brought along.
Taking Power both times from the Helpful Spirit might be necessary, as Liquid adrenaline potions are vital for being able to heal multiple times and two salts possibly being needed if the last two bosses are slow. If prayer is a problem, Life can be useful for the tears and scarab.
An Amulet of blood fury helps sustain chip damage during Kephri and Akkha, occasionally reducing the need to Keris spec. Otherwise, an Amulet of rancour or amulet of torture are beneficial.
Balance additional gear switches with extra prayer potions to ensure you can complete the raid while still allowing for mistakes. Combining gear where possible, such as using Mixed hide armour as your range and melee armour, Barrows gloves as your melee and range gloves, or using Blue moon armour as your melee and mage armour can free up valuable inventory space without losing too much dps.
If Ba-ba and Kephri are done first in order, you only need to bring a single Super combat potion to handle both rooms effectively. An Antidote++ can be used before the raid begins and will likely last until the end of Kephri's room.
Invocations
As most invocations need to be active to reach 500 invocation level, there are only a few options available to make the run as easy as possible. It is almost guaranteed your invocation list will contain 'No help needed', 'Dehydration', 'Insanity', and many boss invocations.
Invocations to avoid:
- 'Quiet prayers', as it will drain far too many supplies throughout a raid while also potentially killing the player in places they normally would survive.
- 'Medic!', as it can waste a lot of time, (upwards of 2-3 minutes), at Kephri and will drain a noticeable amount of supplies.
- Any of the time invocations will add unnecessary stress and potentially fail the challenge run on a successful clear if the time is not met.
Some difficult invocations to consider adding or removing.
- 'Overly draining' will limit your damage dealing special attacks and healing potential with the Keris partisan of the sun, adding time to the raid and limiting mistakes.
- 'Double trouble' will interrupt Akkha more frequently and add time to the run, and requires advanced movement alongside 'Feeling special'.
- 'Keep back' will add additional chip damage or movement to an already challenging room, but is otherwise manageable. Can be almost completely ignored with the butterfly technique and a Tumeken's shadow or bow of Faerdhinen.
- 'Pathmaster' pushes each Boss to level 3 at a minimum, increasing their stats and adding additional mechanics. Although it usually won't change any strategies, it will add extra time to each room. Level 4 Zebak is notoriously challenging and should be avoided if possible.
- 'Ancient haste' can add a lot of unavoidable damage during P1 wardens. Less dps in this phase can drain supplies more than expected, but can be mitigated with Redemption and Tick eating strategies.
- 'More overlords' will add extra time to Kephri, requiring 2 extra minions to be killed along with additional chip damage from the Spitting Scarabs. However, they can be killed rather quickly.
Every other invocation is assumed to be turned on. Consider leaving 'Hardcore run' off while practicing to avoid the expensive death fees.
