Redwood saplings are saplings that can be used to grow redwood trees at 90 Farming. They are made by planting a redwood seed in a filled plant pot, with a gardening trowel in your inventory, then watering the redwood seedling with a watering can or by casting Humidify. When watered, the seedling will sprout into a sapling in one crop cycle (0-5 minutes).
Planting the sapling in the redwood tree patch in the Farming Guild, requiring a spade, yields 230 Farming experience. It will grow into a redwood tree after 6,400 minutes (4 days, 10 hours, and 40 minutes), and yields 22,450 Farming experience when checked.
Players can ask the gardener to protect their tree from disease whilst it grows, which requires payment of 6 dragonfruits. This payment can be noted.
Once the tree has fully grown, it can be cut down like a regular redwood tree, as it will regrow unlike other self-grown log giving trees. This method of cutting redwoods may be preferable for players looking to AFK more, as you don't compete with other players and the bank deposit is closer. However; you will lose out on the Woodcutting Guild's invisible +7 boost to Woodcutting, making it slightly slower overall.
It is not possible for players to clear the redwood tree patch; Alexandra must be paid 2,000 coins to clear it.
