Rainbow crabs can be caught by crab trapping on The Crown Jewel with level 77 Hunter. In order to catch the crabs, a crab trap must first be built over an empty hole and baited with fine fish offcuts. Catching a rainbow crab awards 216 Hunter experience. The crab can then either be prepared with a knife to produce raw rainbow crab meat, which can then be cooked into rainbow crab meat, or the crab can be processed with a pestle and mortar to produce rainbow crab paste, a Herblore secondary used in the creation of Armadyl brews.

Players can expect rates of around 155,000 Hunter experience an hour when actively baiting the traps, consuming ~765 fine fish offcuts in the process.
