Blue crabs can be caught by crab trapping on The Great Conch with level 48 Hunter. In order to catch the crabs, a crab trap must first be built over an empty hole and baited with fish offcuts. Catching a blue crab awards 136 Hunter experience. The crab can then either be prepared with a knife to produce raw blue crab meat, which can then be cooked into blue crab meat, or the crab can be processed with a pestle and mortar to produce crab paste, a Herblore secondary used in the creation of anti-odour salt and super hunter potions.
