The Monuments plays a role in the Priest of Peril quest, located under Paterdomus. Using the golden key on the southern monument containing the key will give the player the iron key, which is used to free Drezel from his prison.

Furthermore, for souvenir purposes only, golden variants of common tools can be obtained by swamping them with their respective monument. This can only be done once during the quest; specifically, before using the blessed water on the coffin. Attempting to use normal tools again on the already swapped monuments during this part of the quest will output a dialogue box, "You have already taken the Golden <item name>".

Other things that should be noted is that during the quest (before using the blessed water on the coffin) attempting to take the items from the monument (whether it was swapped or not) would cause the player to take damage from 1-6, randomly.

*Note: To get the Golden candle, it requires an extinguished candle.
