The large geyser found in the Mountain Camp is used during The Fremennik Exiles to get a polishing rock.

First time inspecting the geyser, you will convince yourself you don't want to sacrifice your precious pet rock, regardless of the option you choose. This will direct you to Peer the Seer in Rellekka. After returning from the conversation with Peer the Seer, interacting with the geyser will trade you a polishing rock for your existing pet rock. This requires both a fishing rod and having ice gloves equipped.
