Holes can be found in several locations across Great Kourend, if players have unlocked them. The holes act as entrances to the Catacombs of Kourend, and when entered players will find themselves within the catacombs relative to their above ground locations. Initially the holes do not appear on the surface, but will be created once the player climbs the underground vine that is correlated to the surface level hole.
The same method is used to unlock the strange passage within the Forthos Dungeon, and the passage in the Giants' Den.
