Up for the Challenge is an elite combat achievement which requires the player to kill Skotizo, or Awakened Altars without equipping a demonbane weapon.
Strategy
The most effective way to complete this achievement is to use the twisted bow, for its increased power and accuracy against monsters with high Magic bonuses, such as Skotizo. Players who do not own a twisted bow may instead opt to use regular melee attacks.
While this task prohibits equipping the Silverlight, Darklight, Arclight, Emberlight, Scorching bow or Burning Claws, it does not prohibit casting Demonbane spells, since those are not equipped weapons. Additionally, Purging staff and Holy water are not considered to be demonbane weapons for this task.
The hardest part of this challenge is keeping the number of altars down to one or zero. However, with sufficient stats and gear it can be navigated without too much difficulty, as the awakened altars have a cooldown of one minute once destroyed before they can reactivate.
