The steel range can be built in the stove space of the kitchen in a player-owned house. It requires 34 Construction to build and gives 120 experience when built. The player must have a hammer and a saw in their inventory to build it.

It should be noted that this is not a complete range, and offers a limit to food player can cook on it. Foods, such as gnome cooking, cannot be done, and can only be cooked on the fancy range.
