Protect Item is a prayer unlocked at level 25 Prayer. If the player is skulled, it will allow the player to keep one item upon death, in most other situations it will allow four.

It cannot be used in high-risk worlds. Though Ultimate Ironmen can activate this prayer, they will not benefit from it.

Protect Item is not affected by the Dragon scimitar's special attack, Sever.

Attempting to use this prayer in conjunction with Redemption is inadvisable in PvP as the latter will drain Prayer points completely upon activation, disabling Protect Item. A skilled player can react to when Redemption activates to quickly restore their Prayer and re-enable Protect item to negate this.
