Hay bales are a form of interactive scenery found throughout many locations, especially near farms. Players can use a sack on most hay bales or on haystacks to get a hay sack, needed to craft a scarecrow.

Some hay bales can be searched with a 10% chance to find a needle.^[1] When this occurs, the player will say "Wow! A needle! Now what are the chances of finding that?" However, there is a 2% chance that players will get pricked with the needle, causing them to lose one hitpoint.
