A gate with a direction puzzle lock is found in the Ghorrock Dungeon during the quest Secrets of the North. Opening the gate requires entering a password made up of directional arrows. The solution of the puzzle is found by reading Tullia's letter and taking note of the purple letters: "S, p, c, d, l". This corresponds to locations on the ancient map beginning with the same letters. By moving in order between Senntisten, Paddewwa, Carrallanger, Dareeyak, and Lassar, the direction moved would be left, up, left, and down.

While passing through the gate after completing the puzzle, it is temporarily replaced by an open gate. After completing the quest, the gate is replaced by an identical unlocked gate.
