Flax can be found on the island kingdom of Miscellania. It can be used during the Throne of Miscellania quest and the Managing Miscellania activity to gain approval with the citizens of Miscellania. In order to rake the patch, the player requires level 10 Farming and a rake in their inventory. Each weed that is raked from the patch yields 1 point towards the player's approval rating.
Unlike other flax plants, the flax can not be picked.

Success chance
The following success rates are provided by Jagex. The chance of successfully raking the patch depends on your Farming level. Successfully raking will reduce the amount of weeds in the patch by 1 stage, add 1 weeds to your inventory, grant 0.1 Farming experience, and 0.78% approval rating; if you fail, you will automatically attempt to rake it again in 4 ticks (2.4s). Once successfully raked 3 times, you'll need to wait for it to become weedy again.

Trivia
- Until the update that introduced Sailing in 2025, which added flax seeds, this was the only place where flax grew in a patch. Fields of flax are tended near Hosidius and Catherby, and otherwise it only grew wild.
- This flax also looks distinctly different to the flax that can be grown from seeds in hops patches, instead looking like the flax that grows elsewhere.
