A square shield is a decorative shield that can be built in the decoration space of the throne room and treasure room in a player-owned house. It requires 76 Construction to build and, when built, grants 360 experience. The player must have a hammer and a saw in their inventory to build it.

Square shields are painted with heraldic crests identical to those featured on other painted shields. Unlike those shields, however, square shields made with the Construction skill are solely decorative and cannot be equipped.

The appearance of the decoration is dependent on the player's heraldry, which can be changed speaking to Sir Renitee.
