Sir Amik Varze is located in the dining hall of Lumbridge Castle during Recipe for Disaster. The player must inspect him to start the Freeing Sir Amik Varze subquest. To start the subquest the player is required to have 107 Quest Points, and the following quests must have been completed: Family Crest, Shield of Arrav, Lost City, Merlin's Crystal, Dragon Slayer I, Heroes' Quest, Jungle Potion, Shilo Village, Plague City, Biohazard, Underground Pass, and Waterfall Quest.

To finish the subquest, a brulee supreme must be used on him.
