Fire traps are part of the fight with Galvek during the Dragon Slayer II quest. When players face Galvek himself, while his hitpoints are above 900 he will place four fire traps on the ship. When players stand too close to the traps, they will detonate and deal massive damage, probably killing the player, even with full hitpoints.

After a period of about 25 seconds, or when Galvek's hitpoints get below 900, the traps detonate as well.
