Key points
- Left-click does the obvious thing; right-click lists every option.
- The minimap in the top-right shows what is nearby. Click it to walk there.
- The orbs beside it show health, prayer, run energy and special attack.
- The side panel’s tabs hold the inventory, equipment, skills, quests, prayers and spells.
Clicking
Almost everything is done with the mouse. Left-click the ground to walk, or a person, monster or object to do the likeliest thing: talk, attack, chop, mine. Right-click lists every option. Use it when the likeliest thing is the wrong one, such as to examine something or to pick one item out of a pile. On a phone, a long press does what right-click does.
The arrow keys turn the camera, and the mouse wheel zooms in and out.
To use one item on another, such as a tinderbox on logs to light a fire, click the first item, then the second.
The minimap and the orbs
The round map in the top-right corner is the minimap. Its dots show what is nearby:

Small icons on it mark banks, shops, altars and quest starts. Click anywhere on it to walk there.
Beside the minimap are four orbs: Hitpoints, Prayer points, run energy and special attack energy. Click the run orb to switch between running and walking.
The side panel
The panel in the bottom-right corner has a row of tabs along its top and another along its bottom. Each tab opens one part of the character:

| Skills | Every skill’s level. Click one to see what each level unlocks. |
| Quest list | Every quest: red is not started, yellow is in progress, green is done. |
| Inventory | The 28 spaces a character carries things in. |
| Worn equipment | What the character wears, and a button for its total bonuses and weight. |
| Prayer | The prayers, each unlocked at a Prayer level. |
| Magic | The spellbook, including the free Home Teleport. |
| Bottom row | Friends, account, logout (with the world switcher), settings, emotes and music. |
The chat box
The box in the bottom-left corner shows messages from the game and what nearby players say. When something does not work, the game says why here: that a level is too low, say, or that the inventory is full. It is the first place to look.
