Xazyd Wier was a Zarosian warlock, who resided somewhere around Kharyrll in the early Third Age. He managed to flee, when Kharyrll was overrun by Zamorakians. Wier fled into the forests to the south and managed to find shelter by a hollow tree near the ruins of Flamtaer. He however found himself stuck in the tree, and whilst stuck he began to have mysterious dreams and visions of both past and future events. Whilst dreaming he saw Otrava, a Zamorakian healer and potioneer, who apparently received much inspiration from Wier in his tree form. He also saw the vampyres' invasion of Hallowvale, fighting against the icyene. It is also hinted that he saw both the six Barrows brothers crusading into Morytania, and the Seven Priestly Warriors fighting against the vampyric forces during the Fourth Age.
Eventually Wier was able to escape the hollow tree, and he wrote down his dreams and visions in the Tree wizards' journal. It is however unknown what happened to Wier, with his journal being found in the Shade Catacombs not far away from the tree he was stuck in.
Trivia
- Wier may be a reference to the weirwood trees from Game of Thrones, mysterious trees with faces carved into their trunks and no sense of time.
- The "young man fighting a horde of horrific demons" is most likely referring to the Zarosian warrior Torva who originated from the village of Flamtaer, and defended it from a pack of Ripper Demons. This event is detailed in the RuneScape 3 book Nex's Followers.
