The Fractured Archive is an upcoming raid first announced during the Winter Summit 2026, scheduled to release in Fall 2026. Described as the "toughest raid yet",[1] the raid will be a combat-focused "bossing experience" with minimal skilling or puzzle elements in a manner similar to that of the Theatre of Blood.[2]. It will be the fourth raid released in Old School RuneScape.

Teams of up to 8 players can enter the raid, with the difficulty planned to scale from 2-8 players, meaning it would be possible to solo the raid, but would be more difficult. Upon release, team wipes will reset the raid fully, but in the weeks following its release, this is planned to change to a system similar to Tombs of Amascut, where raiders have infinite retries with reduced rewards and fewer resources.

Additionally, in the weeks after release, a practice mode is planned that will allow fighting individual raid bosses to practice each fight.

Completion of While Guthix Sleeps will be required for the raid. This would ordinarily prevent some account builds accessing the raid, but Jagex has indicated there are plans to accommodate all builds.[3] The specifics of these plans are yet to be announced.

Three bosses out of five bosses have been teased:

Rewards

Currently proposed rewards from the raid include:

  • An untradeable teleportation item to provide unlimited teleports back to the raid entrance
  • Elemental fragments - untradeable items that can be consumed to permanently increase the max hit of elemental spells by 2.
  • Rondache - a shield that provides the player with 2 flat armour and stores absorbed damage into a special attack that can be used without delay
  • Zorya's Tome - a 3 tick Magic spec weapon, focused on dps
  • Zeal - A Piety upgrade, adding 5% to both Attack and Strength over Piety
  • Ascension crossbows - a pair of duel wielded crossbows
    • Unlike normal crossbows, these crossbows can only fire ascension bolts (and any gem-tipped variants) with a 50% reduced chance to trigger gemstone bolt effects. Gemstone ascension bolts will be limited to specific gem types on release.
  • The TzHaar-Ket breaker - the raid's megarare and the crush equivalent of the Scythe of vitur. This weapon has a 5-tick Lunge option, which grants additional damage against larger enemies and makes as many damage rolls (up to 5) as possible if these values are higher than the target's crush defence. This option has a range of 3 and can hit up to 3 enemies if they are on the same tile(s) or positioned in a straight line. The weapon also has a 3-tick Smash option at the cost of losing the benefits from Lunge.

Scrapped rewards include:

  • A melee/magic hybrid set with bonuses slightly below that of end-game gear such as Torva and ancestral but higher than that of Bandos and having significant prayer bonus.
  • Gatekeeper's Cane (rethemed into Zorya's Tome)

History

The Archive was built by followers of Guthix in order to store Guthix's knowledge and items at the bottom of the Chasm of Tears. At some point, work on the Archive was to be halted indefinitely for a higher priority. The followers who were tasked with its construction complied with the order, hoping that the work they had put in would be enough.[4]

The Archive would remain undisturbed for thousands of years until an adventurer discovered the bottom of the Chasm and the nearby Ancient Guthixian Temple.
