The Archive Guardian is an ancient being tasked with defending The Fractured Archive. It is planned to be the first boss faced in the raid.

Trivia

  • The Archive Guardian's design is based on Guthix's appearance in the God letters, which depict him as a floating skull with tendrils.[1]

    While I don’t believe Guthix has a true depiction, he is often associated with the skull with tendrils in multiple instances. Perhaps humans trying to create logic to something of such great power? It is however something Guthix represents: the complexities of nature, life and death juxtaposed in one kind of symbol. So it felt fitting that Guthix would make the guardian tell this story visually too.
    The environment and the Guardian feels almost like a reminder: «remember who you are in the totality of Gielinor»."
