The Pig Thing is a sourhog that the player encounters during a cutscene in A Porcine of Interest. The sourhog sneaks up on the player while they are investigating the skeleton in the Sourhog Cave, then uses its caustic saliva to attack the player resulting in them fainting. Some time later the player is rescued by Spria.

When first encountered, the sourhog cannot be attacked. After being taught about sourhogs and provided with Reinforced goggles by Spria, the player returns to the cave and defeats the sourhog, completing the quest.
