Elves can be assigned as a Slayer task at level 70 combat by various Slayer masters after completion of Regicide. Elves either use ranged or melee, depending on their weapon; wielding either a crystal bow or a crystal halberd, of which the latter has an attack range of 2 tiles.

Until the player has access to Lletya, the only place for them to kill elves is the Iorwerth Camp. Reaching the camp can be very tedious without using an Iorwerth camp teleport, and players intending to use a dwarf multicannon are discouraged from doing so as the camp is impeded by tents, barrels, and crates. Players may prefer reanimating elves using the Arceuus spellbook spell Adept Reanimation at the Dark Altar, the ensouled heads being purchasable through the Grand Exchange, and gaining 754 Prayer experience per kill but gaining less Slayer and combat experience.

Once enough progress is made in Mourning's End Part I, players can kill elves in both Lletya and Mourner Headquarters. As with the Iorwerth Camp, getting to Lletya can be tedious, and the elves of Lletya have no notable drops other than Crystal teleport seeds. As for the Mourner Headquarters, only the level 108 mourners downstairs will count toward the task, and cannot be reached without a full set of mourner gear; the mourners upstairs do not count toward the task, despite all of them being elves.

After completing Song of the Elves, players gain access to Prifddinas and, most notably, the Iorwerth Dungeon. The dungeon contains 13 Iorwerth Warriors and allows the use of a cannon. The elves in Prifddinas (and the warriors in the dungeon) can drop crystal shards and enhanced crystal teleport seeds, which sell for a good price on the Grand Exchange. However, given their lower weight from higher-levelled slayer masters and the seed being a bit rare, players are recommended to skip elf tasks when they get the chance.

  • If the spell is not cast within a reasonable amount of time of picking up the head, or if the player trades the head or teleports away, then the user will need to reanimate the heads at the Dark Altar in Kourend.

Safespotting can be done with Ranged or Magic. Elves can be safespotted in Lletya and Iorwerth Dungeon as shown below. For the Iorwerth dungeon safespot, simply attack the Elf warrior while they are on the other side of the red line from you and go into the safespot, they should trap themselves.
