A railing is a quest item used only in Dwarf Cannon. In the quest, six railings are obtained from Captain Lawgof and used to replace six bent railings in the fence surrounding the Coal Trucks. A hammer is also needed to repair the fence.
There is a chance to fail when repairing sections of the fence, and the player may receive small amounts of damage which will deal 1-2 Hitpoints. The player will also receive a message saying either You cut your hand on the rusty old railing., You strain your back trying to handle the railings., or You accidentally crush your hand in the railing.
Repairing success rate
The chance of successfully repairing a railing depends on the player's Crafting level.[1] Upon failure, the player will have a 25% chance for each of four effects: 1 hitpoint of damage, 2 hitpoints of damage, draining the Crafting skill by 1, or draining the Strength skill by 1.
