Orb of light is scenery found in the Underground Pass that is used to provide item spawns of four orbs of light during the quest. The orb has the appearance of a regular item, including the colour of the name and red dot on the minimap. After an orb has been destroyed by using it on the furnace, the spawn will no longer be visible.

When Underground Pass was first added to RuneScape 2 in 2004, the northern three orb spawns used actual item spawns. The southernmost spawn instead used this scenery object to handle the special behaviour with the log trap that must be disarmed, with an invisible dead orb item spawn placed at the same position to make a red dot appear on the minimap. After a bug was discovered in 2017 that caused the dead orb to be picked up^[1], the dead orb was removed and the red dot was changed to instead be a map icon on the orb of light scenery. With the release of Song of the Elves in 2019, the northern three orb spawns were also replaced with the scenery object and are no longer visible after destroying the orbs.
