Leeches (Hirudinae Acidia) are found in Morytania in the Mort Myre Swamp and the Haunted Woods east of Canifis. They can also be found on Laguna Aurorae.

These creatures don't appear on the minimap and drop nothing when killed. Leeches have very low strength for their level, only able to deal minimal damage to a player's health, but they can still be quite dangerous as they have a very high Attack level. They also have a chance of draining one or more stats upon each successful hit. When a leech lands an attack on the player, individual rolls will be made for every skill, with each having a 1/5 chance of being reduced by one level.^[1]

Leeches generally serve as a distraction to players who are either passing through or engaging in an activity in their area.

• Despite its name, the anti-leech lotion doesn't do anything against the leech.
