Kiyahtla is a verbose and odd man in the Tlati Rainforest, near the Dragon Nest. He was left in the rainforest as a child with a large number of books, including a dictionary and thesaurus, resulting in his magniloquent speaking patterns.

Players can use items on Kiyahtla. For most items, he provides a generic response: "I have little to say on this object. Congratulations on your ownership of it.".

When presented with certain items, however, he provides unique responses:

• Kiyahtla's opening dialogue of "Oh, I do declare!" is likely a reference to Scarlett O'Hara's similar recurring line from the 1939 film Gone With the Wind.

• His origin story is very similar to that of Tarzan in the original book.

• Kiyahtla means "the rain" or "a rainstorm" as a noun distinct from the verb "Kiyahuitl" or "to rain" which is a modern spelling of the Classic Nahuatl "quiyahuitl". "Quiyahuitl" is the 19th day sign of the Tōnalpōhualli.
