An empty oyster is an oyster which has been opened and does not contain a pearl. It has no known use, but is collected by some players who like accumulating large amounts of difficult to obtain items such as burnt food and crushed gems. These items are not traded on the Grand Exchange, and are often discarded by players because they serve no real purpose.
