Derrik is a blacksmith on the island of Miscellania. He lives in the smithy in the north of the island, also the location of the only anvil on the two island kingdoms of Miscellania and Etceteria. Other than possessing the only smith in the region, Derrik is involved briefly with the Throne of Miscellania quest, in which he makes a giant nib out of an iron bar for King Vargas' giant pen.

• His name is a possible reference to Doric; the player can ask him if they may use his anvil, which is similar to the opening premise of Doric's Quest.
• His appearance and examine option is also strikingly similar to that of Dunstan, the smith encountered in the Death plateau quest series, whose examine is "Smithy for Burthorpe".
• His examine info also reads that he is the "Smithy for Sogthorpe", but Sogthorpe is not a settlement marked on the map. It may be that Sogthorpe is the name of the area consisting of the Miscellania mine and 3 nearby buildings, but there is no other information to suggest this.
