Yewnock's notes

While working on the new anti-illusion device, I found some interesting snippets on elven magic in father's notes. The knowledge that my father has gleaned from the elves is fascinating, and a tribute to his charm and patience. After all, it is not easy to persuade creatures as long-lived as elves to get to the point!

According to the notes, elves can create various enchanted artefacts through crystal singing, with different songs producing different items! While this is a very different means of crafting magical items than is known to most gnomes, it is one we can potentially still take advantage of.

To those of us without their abilities, the process is a bit more limited than it is for the elves, for we must rely on crystal singing bowls to form crystal items. When using one of these singing bowls, it seems that only certain items can be created, with the initial crystal seed determining what these items are. For example, father had one that he was able to turn into a very useful crystal saw.

On the topic of crystal seeds, I recently came into possession of one that can be sung into a crystal chime. I must admit, I'm yet to determine the purpose of such an item, though I'm sure my father's experiments will yield some answers.
