Staircases are encountered during the stealing valuables activity in Civitas illa Fortis. They are found in the houses in the south-western part of the city owned by Victor and Lavinia. If the player visits the house while the owner is home, then the staircase functions as normal and the player can climb it to reach the upper floor of the house. When the player has broken into the house using a house key, then the staircase cannot be climbed. There would be no benefit to climbing the staircase, because the thievable wardrobes, chests, and jewellery cases are all located on the ground floor.
