Ned was a character who could previously be encounted during Dragon Slayer I. He could be found on the Lady Lumbridge after the ship was repaired, and on Crandor where the ship had crashed.
During Dragon Slayer I, Ned from Draynor Village is recruited to help sail the player to Crandor. Due to game limitations in 2001, a second version of Ned had to be created specifically for use during Dragon Slayer. He has a different appearance to the Draynor Village Ned, as he was not graphically updated alongside the other in 2005.
By 2007, RuneScape had sufficiently developed that NPCs could now move around or disappear depending on quest progress. Dragon Slayer I was reworked, and as a result the Draynor Ned now appears in these locations instead. Despite having been removed before 2007, the NPC remained in the game cache until 2015.
