The engine is a quest item found during the Royal Trouble quest. It is used to repair the lift that takes the player further into the dungeons beneath Miscellania castle. It is also the last item needed to fix the lift. Once the engine has been placed on the engine platform, the player must add 5 coal to it in order to restore the lift to a fully working state.
