Workers can be found in the dwarven camp at the Darkfrost. Upon subduing the Hueycoatl, they will appear at the summit and enter the cave entrances where the Hueycoatl tail appeared, then move towards the slope once the she begins to awaken.

A third worker also performs work at the Darkfrost, but he is currently on break and is drinking in the Windbreaker pub in Quetzacalli Gorge.

• The dialogue between the grey-haired dwarf and the player references the 2020 video game Deep Rock Galactic. In Deep Rock, the playable characters, which are also dwarves, frequently mention an unseen character by the name of Karl that went missing. Notable among those phrases is "For Karl!", which is approximated at the end of the dialogue with the worker in The Darkfrost as "For Karlo!". The characters also use the phrase "rock and stone" as a warcry, which is mentioned by the worker.
