Unnecessary Optimisation is a hard combat achievement which requires the player to kill the Kraken after killing all four tentacles.
The Enormous Tentacles can be killed before waking the Kraken.

Trivia
- The task's name may be a reference to a game engine bug which causes the enormous tentacles to do so little damage, it is unnecessary to kill them.[1]
