The mysterious orb is a quest item used only in Client of Kourend. It is obtained from Veos after returning the enchanted scroll and quill to him.

It must be taken to the Dark Altar to be activated. Once the orb is activated near the Dark Altar, it will shatter into broken glass. If a player activates the orb anywhere else, a message appears stating that the orb is unresponsive.

Duplicates can be obtained by banking the first one to obtain another. After completing the quest, all copies in the inventory and bank are deleted.
