Mimic Veteran is an elite combat achievement which requires the player to kill the Mimic once.
In order to be eligible to obtain a Mimic, players must first speak to the strange casket upstairs in Watson's house in Hosidius to enable the chance of a reward casket turning into the Mimic. An elite reward casket has a 1/35 chance of being a mimic, while master reward caskets have a 1/15 chance. There is a one-time guaranteed Mimic encounter on either the 10th master or 25th elite casket, whichever is first.
