- Marsha is a reference to Marsha P. Johnson, an African-American gay liberation activist during the late 20th century, who was known for co-founding the radical activist group S.T.A.R. (Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries) alongside close friend Sylvia Rivera, whom the NPC Sylvia is a reference to.
