Karambwanji paste is made by grinding up raw karambwanji with a pestle and mortar. During Tai Bwo Wannai Trio the paste must be used with burnt jogre bones to create pasty jogre bones (burnt raw). The pasty bones will then be cooked into marinated j' bones and given to Tinsay. The karambwanji paste can incorrectly be used with jogre bones that have not been burnt, which will create a useless version of the pasty jogre bones.

Cooked karambwanji can be ground up into a cooked karambwanji paste. This version of the paste is useless, and serves as a distraction when attempting to complete the quest. The cooked paste can also be used on burnt and normal jogre bones, creating pasty jogre bones (burnt cooked) and pasty jogre bones (normal cooked) respectively. These will explode when attempting to use them on a range.

• Raw karambwanji paste cannot be cooked into cooked karambwanji paste.
