Flames of Lloigh-enn

The flames of Lloigh-enn are a legendary barrier between dimensions created at some point in the ancient past, and are primarily featured on the login screen of Old School RuneScape. In Issue 23 of the God letters, Zamorak discussed their use and history.^[1] The flames of Lloigh-enn (a pun on the word "login") are the pair of torches players can see on the login screen. They allow the player to journey to Gielinor if they recite their unique "spell" for access (i.e. their username and password).

Obviously, the real flames of Lloigh-enn do not appear in-game. However, look-alikes of the braziers (or at least their top halves) can be found flanking the staircase that leads into and out of the crypt beneath the White Knights' Castle in Falador. Look-alikes can also be found in the Old School Museum, and were present in the Falador Party Room during the 2018 Birthday event.

• Although visibly present both in the login screen as well as in the Old School Museum, the name "Flames of Lloigh-enn" had not been used ingame until the release of the Grid master torch scroll reward from the Grid Master event. The item is used to change the look of incense burners in the Chapel in the Player-owned house, and the examine text of the item says: "Used on a marble incense burner inside your Player owned house to change them to the Flames of Lloigh-enn.".
