Dead Tree (Waterfall Dungeon)

Dead tree is a tree located on a small islet in the middle of the River Dougne, directly above the entrance to the Waterfall Dungeon. In order to reach the dungeon, a rope must be used on the tree, which will allow the player to climb down to the entrance. The tree also has a climb option, but attempting to climb the tree will always fail. Instead, the player will be washed down the river and arrive on the riverbank some distance to the south.

The dead tree cannot be chopped with an axe.

Using a rope on the tree will print the message "You tie the rope to the tree and climb down to the ledge below." and bring the player to the ledge with the entrance to the Waterfall Dungeon.

Attempting to climb the tree will instead wash the player down the river, printing the message "You try to use the tree to climb down..." followed by "...but you slip and fall into the water.". After washing up on the shore, the player will be dealt a small amount of damage (up to 9) and say Ouch!.
